The Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has extended its condolences to former world champion Anthony Joshua and to the families of two individuals who lost their lives in a road accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Monday, December 29.

Speaking on behalf of the federation, NBF President Wale Edun expressed sympathy and offered prayers for Joshua’s recovery.

“On behalf of the entire Nigerian boxing family, I express our deepest condolences to our national treasure, Anthony Joshua, and to the families of the two individuals who passed away. The loss of life is always deeply distressing, and our thoughts and prayers are with you, Anthony, and with the affected families at this difficult time.”

Edun, who also serves as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, added: “As a boxing community, we pray for your speedy recovery and for the souls of the dearly departed to rest in peace.”
