Ogun State Commissioner for Sports Development, Wasiu Isiaka, has motivated the state’s scrabble team ahead of the 22nd National Sports Festival.
During an unscheduled visit to their camp outside the state capital, the commissioner encouraged the athletes to make Ogun proud at the upcoming multi-sports event.

The 16-member team, which includes current African champion Oluwatimilehin Doko, was engrossed in their game when the commissioner arrived unexpectedly. Led by Captain Cyril Umebiye, the players and coaches warmly welcomed Isiaka, appreciating his visit as a morale booster.
Isiaka expressed high expectations for the team, stating, “I’m excited to be here! What I have seen so far is a strong and determined team, and we are ready to support you to achieve the best results. My expectations are very high because I know your rating in Nigeria, and I can’t expect less.”
He also shared insights on the preparations for the festival, which will run from May 16 to 30.

“We are working on providing the best facilities, ensuring visitors are well taken care of, and preparing our team to perform excellently. Everything is on track, and with the athletes’ determination, I believe we can do well.”
