Lord Coe, the President of World Athletics, is considering running for the presidency of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after Thomas Bach announced he would step down in 2025.
Coe, who has been re-elected for a third term at World Athletics, mentioned that he would give serious thought to the opportunity.

The new IOC president will be elected in March 2025 and take office in June 2025.
Coe emphasized that any decision would be made under IOC rules, which restrict candidates from declaring their intentions until three months before the election. Coe played a significant role in London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics.
