Nigeria’s national female basketball team – D’Tigress will on Tuesday, March 19, know their group opponents for the Basketball Tournaments of Paris 2024 Olympic Games in France.
The Draws for the Men’s and Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournaments Paris 2024 in Mies, Switzerland will be completed according to specific Draw Principles.
It has been scheduled to take place at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball and performed by legends of the game Penny Taylor and Carmelo Anthony.
A total of 12 national teams from five continents will compete at the Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024, which is scheduled to run from July 28 to August 11.
The Draw Principles are based on the FIBA World Ranking Women, presented by Nike, as well as other geographical principles.
The 12 teams will be divided into four pots based on the FIBA Women’s World Ranking.
In each of the final groups drawn, there will be a minimum of one and a maximum of two teams from Europe. For Africa, Americas, Asia and Oceania, there shall be no more than one team per continent in each group.
Nigeria as the only Africa’s representative in the women’s event will compete in Paris alongside USA, China, Australia, Spain, Canada, Belgium, France, Japan, Serbia, Puerto Rico, Germany
