Matthew Kuti was all smiles on Monday, March 4, when he played his first match at the 13th African Games taking place in Accra, Ghana.
The 12-year-old knew he was in Ghana to make a name for himself and he showed his class when defeated 11-year-old Ghanaian sensation Israel Aklie 3-0 to take off well in the men’s singles of the tournament.
The Nigerian youngster who is making his debut as the youngest member of the Nigerian squad said he cannot wait to cause a major upset in Ghana.
“I am so happy coming to Ghana and I am sure playing with the team that has the likes of Quadri Aruna would surely bring me good luck in Ghana. I will give my best and hope that my best will take me far,” Kuti said.
