Strength and perseverance will be at stake when Nigerian MMA top fighter Segun Ogunnoiki aka ‘Machinegun Shegz’ takes on Congo’s Flex ‘The Monster’ Munze in a strong field of fighters that will be on parade on Saturday March2, at the African Knockout Championships (AKO) 3 at SOL Boxmall, Oniru Lagos.

Machinegun Shegz’, a trained lawyer turned MMA warrior was without much words when he declared that he would represent Nigeria well against his DR Congo opponent in the main bout of the African Knockout 3.

Ogunoiki who is lined up for the main bout with a 5 wins and 2 losses MMA record said he has trained hard and focused to floor Munwe who boasts a record 3-1-0.

“I have trained hard for this and ready to take on not only Flex but anyone who cares to step into the cage with me. I am Nigerian and no one will come from out there to stop me on home soil”

The co-main bout between unbeaten Josiah ‘KO Wizard’ Musasa in the featherweight category will be fighting experienced Egyptian Abdelghani Saber in what has been described as war.

The weigh-in was quite dramatic as Saber shovered Musasa more than once to express his intention that he was not in Nigeria for fun.

According to Congo’s Musasa, “I am here for war, and to bring to the attention of the whole world that there are people suffering in my country because we are at war. I will knock him out in round 2.”

Musasa has won all his four MMA fights and said he’s not ready to lose against the Egyptian former kick-boxer, who boasts of 11 fights with eight wins and two losses.

Other ibouts of the day pitted Francois Ahizi of Cote d’Ivoire against Nigerian Cornel Thompson in the featherweight category, and Xavier Boa (Cote d’Ivoire) and Ugochukwu Melvin of Nigeria. Both fights have been tagged ‘Revenge Mission’ after Nigeria’s loss to Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the Nations Cup.
