Star midfielder Teboho Mokoena is modest in his target and ambition for Bafana Bafana – he revealed that what he wants to achieve with the national side.

The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Mokoena said that the ambition and target is to take Bafana to a different level – beyond the quarter-finals.

Coached by Hugo Broos, Bafana will face Cape Verde on Saturday night and Mokoena says reaching the Last Eight is not new but the target and ambition is to do better.

Mokoena netted a stunning free-kick for Bafana as they downed Morocco via a 2-0 margin on Tuesday – but he has a different target and ambition.

On top of his much talked about set piece for Bafana, Mokoena also bagged the Man of the Match Award and he speaks about their ambition and target as the tournament reaches climax.

“Honestly, the expectations from us? Is to take it one game at a time, because this tournament, we all can see…nobody can say who’s going to win it,” Bafana star Mokoena reveals ambition and target according to iDiski Times.

“So it’s up to us or the other teams to take the trophy and in 2019, we reached the quarter-finals.

“So it’s not a surprise to South Africans, the quarterfinals are not new to us.”

The former SuperSport United star, Mokoena is rising as one of Bafana’s most trusted soldiers as he has five goals with three assists out of 28 matches next to his name.

Born in Welkom, Mokoena made his Bafana debut back in 208 and now looks at his target and ambition for the 1996 African champions.

“So we must take it a step higher because we need to take the national team to a better place than we found it, so yeah, that’s our aim and goal as a team, so yeah, we’ll see,” added Bafana star midfielder Mokoena.
