Leicester City have confirmed that Super Eagles’ duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi will link up with Coach Jose Peseiro for their pre-tournament camp in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Iheanacho and Ndidi were named in Nigeria’s 25-man squad for AFCON 2023 by the Portuguese gaffer and they are expected to be part of the team for the continental showpiece.
However, Iheanacho has been side-lined for weeks while Ndidi missed Leicester 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town on New Year’s Day.
Meanwhile, Coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that the duo will link up with the squad in Dubai soon.
Maresca said: “Kelechi [Iheanacho] and Wilfred [Ndidi] are both currently injured, but they are going to go with the international team, we will see if Nigeria want to include them or send them back as I said, they both have an injury at the moment. Patson [Daka] and Harry [Souttar] are already with their international teams.”
